This is a game board of Tumblin' Dice, I made it out of Cedar, Maple, Black Walnut, White Pine, Purple Heart, and Red Oak woods. I hand cut and carved each die out of each of the six different woods and the main board is made from Black Walnut, Cedar, and Maple. Tumblin' Dice is an existing game that I love and have in my own collection, if you haven't played it I recommend looking into it. I love woodworking and this my love for tabletop games merging with it!
Sculpture
The installment was a big success, people interacted with it every day for the week it was out, messing with the fishing line, moving their drink, and even leaving notes tucked between the creatures’ fingers.
This sculpture is made from Sculpey clay and finished with acrylic paint. Each of the troublemaking creature blends features of goblins and gargoyles, giving them a playful yet slightly eerie charm. These jolly pranksters are “fishing” for gullible passersby, with a two-dollar bill tied to the end of their line to catch attention. Through these characters, I aimed to capture a sense of mischievous whimsy brought to life.
